Healthy Birth Day was founded by five Iowa moms determined to make our world a safer place to have a baby. In the first 10 years of the Count the Kicks stillbirth prevention program in Iowa, the state’s stillbirth rate went down by nearly 32% while rates in the rest of the country remained relatively stagnant. Our hope is to bring the same success to all 50 states, which would save at least 6,000 babies every year.

Healthy Birth Day, Inc. is an Iowa-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of stillbirth through programming, advocacy and research. We are best-known for our Count the Kicks stillbirth prevention program, which teaches expectant parents the method for, and importance of, tracking their baby’s movement daily during the third trimester of pregnancy.
